Power Quality Enhancement Using A Z-Source Inverter-Based Dynamic Voltage Restorer With PLL-Synchronized PI ControlID: 3594 Abstract :Voltage Sag, Voltage Swell, And Supply Interruptions Constitute Nearly 80% Of Power Quality Disturbances In Modern Distribution Networks, Causing Significant Global Economic Losses Due To Equipment Malfunction And Production Downtime. Mitigating These Disturbances Is Critical For Sensitive Infrastructures Such As Semiconductor Fabrication Plants, Data Centers, And Medical Facilities. However, Conventional Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) Systems Exhibit Limited Compensation Capability During Unbalanced Faults, Sluggish Dynamic Responses, And Elevated Harmonic Injection. To Overcome These Limitations, This Paper Presents A Z-Source Inverter-based Dynamic Voltage Restorer (ZSI-DVR) Integrated With A Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) Synchronized Proportional-Integral (PI) Control Strategy. The Architecture Leverages A Symmetric Z-source Impedance Network To Provide Inherent Single-stage Voltage Boost Capability, Eliminating The Need For Bulky Front-end DC–DC Converters. The PLL Ensures Precise Grid Synchronization, While The PI Controller Regulates The Series Injection Transformer To Dynamically Counteract Voltage Anomalies. Simulation And Experimental Validations Demonstrate That The Proposed ZSI-DVR Drastically Improves Voltage Restoration Accuracy, Accelerates Transient Response, And Enhances Load-side Power Quality And Reliability Under Volatile Grid Conditions |
