    Abstract :

This Study, Titled "Financial Consequences Of Ransomware Attacks On Businesses," Explores The Economic Damages, Recovery Expenses, And Business Interruption Costs Experienced By Enterprises Following Cyber Security Breaches. In An Increasingly Digitalized Corporate Ecosystem, Ransomware Represents A Major Threat To Corporate Solvency. Beyond The Direct Cost Of Ransom Payments, Businesses Face Substantial Indirect Consequences, Including Prolonged System Downtime, Lost Retail Sales, Database Recovery Expenses, PR Compliance Costs, And Customer Churn. This Research Conducts A 5-year Capital Budgeting Analysis (2021- 2025) Of An Enterprise-level Automated Security And Recovery Platform Designed To Mitigate Ransomware Risks. The Financial Viability Of The Platform Is Evaluated Using Standard Capital Budgeting Metrics: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate Of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PBP), And Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR). Quantitative Metrics Indicate That Average System Downtime Peaks At 26 Days Under Legacy Defense Architectures, But Falls To 15 Days Under Automated Systems. The Financial Evaluation Yields A Positive NPV Of 284.5 Crores And An IRR Of 38.6%, Far Exceeding The 10% Hurdle Rate. The Study Concludes That Capital Allocation Toward Proactive Cybersecurity And Automated Backup Databases Is Highly Viable And Financially Feasible, Protecting Corporate Assets And Preserving Long-term Enterprise Value.
